The city of Bastrop, Texas, nestled on the banks of the Colorado River is just 30 minutes from Austin, and less than two hours from Houston. The Central Texas Museum of Automotive History traces the history of the automobile. This museum just 15 miles from town offers Vintage cars; trucks and other vehicles are on display. Just off Main Street you will find the Bastrop Opera House. The Bastrop Opera House built in 1889, was renovated in 1984 and restored to its original purpose. This award winning Theatre features comedy, dramatic and musical productions year-round. Lake Bastrop and the Colorado River offer fishing, boating and other water activities. The LCRA‘s McKinney Roughs Nature Park is just minutes away and features miles of walking and equestrian trails.
